Appointment of Three Ad Hoc Justices of Appeal

The Court of Appeal of Seychelles seeks to appoint three ad hoc Justices of Appeal to hear an appeal de novo from a judgment of the Supreme Court of Seychelles.

An earlier judgment of the Court of Appeal in relation to this appeal has been declared null and void by a majority judgment of the Court of Appeal. The Court has also ordered that the said judgment be set aside and that the Court of Appeal should hear the appeal de novo.

Candidates should be or have been a Judge of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (JCPC) or held high judicial office in the Apex Court in a Commonwealth country as an appellate Judge for at least ten years with experience in dealing with civil cases.

The Court session in this case is for one week and is expected to begin on or about 15th July 2022. The remuneration for the assignment will be £4,000 sterling. Seychelles will provide a business class ticket to successful applicants, as well as accommodation on full board basis and transport whilst in Seychelles.

The deadline for applications, which should be accompanied by a recent curriculum vitae and recent passport-size photo, should reach the office of the Chairman of the Constitutional Appointments Authority by Tuesday 31st May 2022.
